
Gunmen Kidnap Guardian Newspaper Reporter In Bayelsa, Demand N5m Ransom
Julius Osahon, a journalist and news reporter with the Guardian Newspaper has been Kidnapped.
A family source told OsazuwaAkonedo on phone that the Journalist was Kidnapped on Friday in preparation to travel to Abuja for an event.
The family source said he had planned to leave Bayelsa State to Warri in Delta State where he would get an early morning bus to Abuja.
Barrister Jefferson Uwoghiren, a Benin based legal practitioner had earlier raised alarm that the Journalist has been Kidnapped and abductors demanding the sum of 5 million naira ransom for his release.
“He was abducted by armed hoodlums at Patani on his way to Warri, Delta State. He has spent two nights with his assailants in the forest.
“We are appealing to those holding him to release him unconditionally.
“He is just a journalist and does not have the 5 million naira ransom they are demanding”, Barrister Jefferson Uwoghiren said.
