Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has demolished a house at Oba Community in Idemili South Local Government Area, discovered by Special Joint Security Operatives fighting against Unknown Gunmen in the state and ordered the arrest of residents or neighbors living close to the house, said to be kidnappers’ den.
Information from the community indicated that the discovery of the house and arrest of the neighborhood residents occured last Sunday after Unknown Gunmen carried out some kidnappings along Onitsha-Owerri road between Rojenny Tourist Village and New road junction at Oba Community.
Governor Soludo in a video message posted on his YouTube channel few hours ago, said he would look into the issue of the neighborhood residents, whom he said are guilty of complicity of silence.
Governor Soludo said the neighborhood residents most have been seeing the activities of the unknown gunmen and the business of kidnapping going on in the house, but decided to keep quite against the government standing on flushing out, any form of criminality in the state.
Governor Soludo said the Special Joint Security Operatives rescued three Kidnapped victims, including a Reverend Father who were abducted by the Unknown Gunmen.
Governor Soludo said he demolished the house inline with the anti kidnapping laws of the state, stressing that, any house, any bush, used for kidnapping must be cleared or demolished.
Soludo said no hiding place for Unknown Gunmen in the state.
