Ukraine Accuses China Of Helping Russia – War Can’t End, We’ll Move On – US
Ukranian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused China Government led by President Xi Jinping of helping Russia by thus allegedly sending the country’s weapon production workers to Russia to be producing gunpowder, artillery, among other military weapons, the enemy neighbouring country, Russia under President Vladimir Putin are using to attack and destroy Ukraine, this, Zelenskyy confirmed that Russia attacked Kharkiv with ballistic missiles as Christians set to mark this year Good Friday, which do herald the celebration of Easter, just as the United States Government through the office of the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio also on Friday said that if the war in Ukraine can’t be stopped, the US will move on, because, the US is not the cause of the war, and the North America country has been helping Ukraine since the start of the war, three years ago.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a Press Conference on Thursday, said that Ukraine has intelligence information indicating that China is supplying weapons to Russia.
“We received information that China is supplying weapons to Russia. Today we have information from intelligence about gunpowder, artillery. We will tell you about this in great detail next week”, said Zelenskyy
Adding that he has intelligence suggesting China, the world second largest economy is supplying arms to support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and is manufacturing weapons within Russia, this, as China has always sought to project itself as a neutral party in the conflict, even as Beijing has forged stronger ties with Vladimir Putin, according to Associated Press.
We had reported earlier this month that two Chinese nationals were captured fighting for Russia by Ukraine.
The statement issued by President Zelenskyy on Thursday at the Press Conference marked the first time Ukraine is openly and publicly accusing China of aiding Russia’s invasion in Ukraine.
On the attacks carried out by Russia on Friday morning, Zelenskyy stated in quotes thus: “This is how Russia began this Good Friday – with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, Shaheds – maiming our people and cities.
A missile strike on Kharkiv, right on the city. Dozens of residential buildings were damaged, as well as an enterprise and vehicles. Around 70 people were injured, including five children. The youngest, Valeriia, is just two years old. All the wounded received the necessary medical assistance. Tragically, one person was killed.
Sumy. Russian attack drones. One of the targets was a regular bakery, an ordinary business that has served the city for decades. Tragically, one person was killed in this attack. My condolences to all who have lost loved ones.
There were also Russian strikes on Dnipro, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions.
Our rescuers, medics, and other emergency and specialized services are all responding and helping. I thank every single person who is saving lives and restoring living conditions in Ukraine’s cities and villages.
I am grateful to all our partners who are helping defend Ukraine. Every defense package matters – all air defense systems, sufficient supply of missiles for those systems – all this truly makes a difference”.
On the other hand, CNN reported that the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio said Friday that if it is not possible to end the war in Ukraine, the United States needs to abandon its efforts and move on.
“If it is not possible to end the war in Ukraine, we need to move on,” he told reporters before departing Paris. “We need to determine very quickly now, and I’m talking about a matter of days, whether or not this is doable.”
The comments come a day after he and special envoy Steve Witkoff met with European and Ukrainian allies as US President Donald Trump’s administration pushes for an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
A US-authored outline of a peace plan had received an “encouraging reception” at the talks, according to a State Department readout, which did not give details on the outline. Rubio also spoke with Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and conveyed the same outline, the readout said.
Speaking Friday, Rubio said he and Witkoff had come to Paris to “begin to talk about more specific outlines of what it might take to end the war” and whether or not this is a war that can be ended.
“If it’s not possible, if we’re so far apart that this is not going to happen then I think the president is probably at a point where he’s going to say we’re done,” he said.
“It’s not our war. We didn’t start it. The United States has been helping Ukraine for the past three years and we want it to end, but it’s not our war,” he added.
“President (Trump) has spent 87 days at the highest level of this government repeatedly taking efforts to bring this war to and end. We are now reaching a point when we need to decide and determine whether this is even possible or not. Which is why we’re engaging both sides.”
We had reported that the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has given state honours to some workers in the troubled Ukraine who have been supporting the military with production of weapons to enable the European country defend itself against Russia invasion that has been on since February 24, 2022, when President Vladimir Putin of Russia declared full scale war on its closest neighbouring and formerly; brotherly country, Ukraine, this, President Zelenskyy said that more than 40 percent of all the weapons used in all the front lines to defend Ukraine are made in Ukraine.
