If The Weather Was Bad, What Stops Buhari From Traveling By Road To Zamfara – Shehu Sani

In what many see as the fear of the terrorists group known as bandits is the beginning of wisdom, former Kaduna Central Senator in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has said if the weather was bad, President Muhammadu Buhari could have still traveled by road to Zamfara if he really wanted to do so.

Senator Shehu Sani made the statement yesterday in a tweet.

It would be recalled President Muhammadu Buhari had cancelled his trip to Zamfara state, considered to be the headquarters of the terror bandits due to bad weather as stated by the President.

President Muhammadu Buhari sent a video and radio broadcast to the people of Zamfara state that the last Thursday scheduled condolence visit by him would not be possible due to inclement bad weather.

The President broadcast reads thus:

“My dear people of Zamfara State.

“It pains me that I can no longer be with you today as I had planned. I had just finished what I came to do in Sokoto at the BUA cement facility and was looking forward to meeting you.

“I have been told that the trip cannot hold anymore because of bad weather which has made it impossible for my helicopter to fly to Gusau from Sokoto.

“I understand how you feel about this development but I know that you will agree with me that Allah knows best. I particularly sympathize with your Governor, Bello Matawalle and his cabinet who have put everything in place to make the visit a successful one.

“I look forward to a more weather-friendly period when I will visit.

“I am directing our security agencies to sustain the onslaught against terrorists, restrict cross-boundary infiltration and all unauthorised access to the goldmines in the state.

“The Federal Government and the Zamfara State Government are working to ensure that peace returns to all parts of the State in the shortest possible time and we expect all citizens to cooperate with, and support in all ways, the Armed Forces and other security agencies”.

Senator Shehu Sani said “When the Weather was bad, the Commander in Chief could have still travel by road to Zamfara if he wants to”.

Many have asked a simple question begging for an answer that if President Muhammadu Buhari could not travel on air to Zamfara state from Sokoto due to bad weather but how come the weather became friendly for his aircraft to enable him travel from Sokoto to Abuja.
