Agbero Beat Keke Driver To Coma In Anambra
Three members of motor park tax collector s well known as Agbero have beaten to coma a commercial tricycle operator in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Sunday for insisting on obeying Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo ban order on Agbero.
Vanguard Newspapers report today indicated that the touts, numbering three, had accosted the Keke driver at the park close to the popular UNIZIK junction and demanded the normal 200 naira fee before commencing the daily business.
Governor Soludo had in his second day in office at Onitsha banned the activities and the continuity of Agbero and asked members of the public not to pay levies to them henceforth.
The Governor said a digital system of tax collection would be put in place to ensure that people were not abused when taxed.
The Keke driver reportedly told Agbero that he heard the new governor warning people not to pay cash to anybody henceforth, a statement that infuriated the touts.
