Chimaroke Congratulates LP Senator-elect, Attacks Peter Obi, Ohanaeze
Former Enugu State Governor and Senator representing Enugu East, Chimaroke Nnamani has lost his re-election bid to the Labour Party candidate, Kelvin Chukwu.
The former governor congratulated the Senator-elect but he has continued to use words of attack on the former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party, LP, Presidential Candidate in the 2023 General Election, Peter Obi and Igbo elders under the umbrella body of Ohanaeze social cultural group.
The LP candidate polled 69, 136 to beat Chimaroke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 48, 701 votes.
Kelvin replaced his brother, Oyibo Chukwu, who was murdered a few days before the February 25, 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections.
Oyibo’s death led to the postponement of the Enugu East senatorial election to March 18 same day the governorship and State Assembly elections would be held.
Senator Nnamani sent a congratulatory message to his rival, Kelvin Chukwu over his victory in Saturday’s senatorial election.
The former governor in the message said the outcome of the election reflected the wishes of the majority of constituents adding “the people have spoken”, according to Punch Newspaper.
He explained that “The result of the election is in tandem with the rave of the moment in the South East zone who have identified with the Labour Party. A contrary result would have negated the trend.
He said, “I wish the Enugu East senator-elect a successful tenure in the upper legislative chamber.”
Senator Chimaroke Nnamani on Monday continued to send attacking tweets on Peter Obi, accusing the Labour Party flag bearer of setting the Igbo political trajectory back by 24 years.
“Governors, Local Government Chairmen failed 100 percent. Ordinary water unavailable in cities. Unemployment, Pollutants and “Rubbish ” living house to house in competition with our people.
“Massive public neglect gave fertile ground for Peter Gringory Obi to plant his message of Hate.
“These Igbo leaders including “Asoebi” Governors quite unlike my ’99 class. They danced while Igbo Land burnt. They lacked the ” Liver”to condemn “sit at home” nor condemn the killings.
“They cowered at Peter Gringory Obi message of hate, bile and incitement. They failed!
“The Oha Na Eze. Grown elders who kept quiet while the goats labored tethered will live to regret their political miscalculations.
“As Governor, I knew they were essentially inert. Coming to Enugu at long weekends to catch fun with young girls in the guise of “Nkpuke”.
“Peter “Gringory” Obi has set the Igbo political trajectory 24 years back.
“He has become a twin Blight and Scourge on the Land. His devious Opium served to Christians within sections of Nigeria and to Igbo domiciled in different sections of Nigeria is wicked and dangerous.
“In the Land of the Igbo, the people have spoken. They have spoken under the influence of an unholy concoction of the 2 most powerful social “opioids” Ethnic jingoism and Religious Extremism both powered by the trilogy of Priests,” Igbo Patriots” and vulnerable Youths.
“I am befuddled that a people so blessed with the Trinity of Character could always fall easy prey to social climbers and scam artists.
“Whipping them into a trance like orgy of Tribalism and rabid religiousity. A self destruct and stone deaf March to Political Armageddon.
“The Obedient “TAX” on the Igbo is a near 24 year drag on her political trajectory towards a true political reunification and testament with others in comity with other African Ethnic Nationalities of the Nigerian Federation.
Chimaroke Nnamani who had hoped to win, earlier said: “As I await the ultimate judgment of the people on the renewal of our mandate to serve.
“I can’t help but reflect on the huge toll on the Igbo African Ethnic Nationality. Toll exerted by cyclical emergence of poorly educated and largely ignorant demagogues”.
Chimaroke Nnamani however told his supporters to remain calm and accept the outcome of the election in good faith.
