Daily Sit-At-Home: Be Civil, Nnamdi Kanu Tells Supporters As IPOB DOS Holds Urgent Press Briefing Tomorrow
As the continuation of the court trial for the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu begins next week Tuesday January 18th, 2022, the detained secessionist leader has appealed to his supporters who will be in Abuja for the court sittings to be civil and avoid being distracted by the current situation faced with Federal government of Nigeria.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu made the appeal yesterday through his lead lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor just as the Head of the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra announced tomorrow Saturday for his urgent broadcast.
The broadcast is speculated in the South East states to likely be for the announcement and declaration of daily sit-at-home in the projected Biafra land that may likely spanned up to one month depending on the court trial and adjournment.
It would be recalled every Monday sit-at-home has been going on in the South Eastern states of Nigeria since August 9, 2021 with level of compliance gradually reducing until last week President Muhammadu Buhari in an interview with Channels Television news team insisted he will not release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and emphatically stated that Nigerians understand that they are better together than divided.
The President added that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is given all the opportunity to defend himself before the court and stressed that judiciary is one institution he will not interfer in their matters.
President Muhammadu Buhari also said political solution is possible in the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu but he will not release him if he will go out and continue to abuse the government.
Many referenced President Muhammadu Buhari statement during the interview to mean even though the court grant Mazi Nnamdi Kanu bail, the President may still not release him like the previous instances when Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was first arrested.
The Head of Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Chika Edoziem will address the Biafrans tomorrow by 7pm Nigeria time via Radio Biafra and other social media platforms.
Nnamdi Kanu lead Lawyer, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor said he’s optimistic the forthcoming court outings will be impressive as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in high spirit and prepared for the legal battle continuing from next week.
“We undertook our customary visit to Onyendu in DSS custody today. In the course of the visit, our discussions focused primarily on our final preparations for the legal battle that would resume on the turf of the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division, from next week and on subsequent adjourned dates, if any.
“We coalesced the product of our individual reflections on the most potent legal strategies henceforth to be adopted, fine tuned and harmonised them, and then distilled them into a single, conclusive, potent, workable formula.
“We are optimistic that the court outings of Onyendu would be impressive. Onyendu himself is in high spirit. Our discussions with him further reassured him and strengthened his determination to persevere unrelentingly.
“I declare to you, UMUCHINEKE, that Onyendu is fully prepared to appear in court as from the 18th of January, 2022.
“He is rooting for victory and knows that, with the help of ChukwuokikeAbiama, victory is assured”, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor said.
Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor added that those fighting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu would be put to shame permanently due to harmonized workable formula they have evolved for the legal battle.
“You will all behold with your eyes an interesting dimension in the harmonised workable formula we have evolved. The detractors of Onyendu will be comprehensively humbled and permanently put to shame”.
Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor said during the visit, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu mandated him and his team to admonish his teeming supporters and followers that will appear in court in demonstration of loyalty and support to conduct themselves with decorum and be civil.
“Further, Onyendu utilized the opportunity afforded by our visit to mandate us to admonish his teeming supporters and followers.

“He advises those of them that would appear in court in demonstration of their unflinching support and loyalty to him to conduct themselves with decorum, be civil in their conduct and comportment, shun violence and deviant behaviour in any manner or form, and exercise restraint in speech.
“On our part, we have caused formal correspondences to issue on responsible, sovereign, democratic Governments and other international institutions to prevail on the Nigerian Government to caution uncouth and overzealous security agents.
“We can authoritatively declare to you, UMUCHINEKE, that those correspondences are receiving the requisite attention they deserve.
“We are optimistic that there would be a positive transformation in the conduct and general approach of the said overzealous security agents at the next appearance of Onyendu in court”, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor said.
