Israel Defense Force has confirmed that Hamas fighters killed over 300 people in Israel and injured another 1500 persons with large numbers of the residents kidnapped and taken into Gaza in the early morning unprecedented attack on Saturday.
The Defense spokesperson, lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus in a live broadcast from Tel Aviv on Saturday evening said the Saturday attack is the first time a large number of Israelis will be killed in a single day.
According to the Defense Spokesperson, both physically challenged persons and children were killed, injured and kidnapped by Hamas fighters.
It was gathered that the Hamas fighters invaded Israeli cities around 6:30 am on Saturday and fired over 3000 rockets into Israel in a single day.
The Commander of the Nahal Brigade, Colonel Jonathan Steinberg was killed during the confrontation with the Hamas fighters.
Colonel Steinberg, 42 years old from Kibbutz Shomria, the IDF sends condolences to his family and assured in a statement yesterday that it will continue to support the family of the deceased.
The IDF said it’s initiating a large-scale operation to defend Israeli civilians against the combined attack launched against Israel by Hamas yesterday morning.
