I Saw A Great Thing In Tobi Amusan While On Training At Ogbemudia Stadium Few Weeks Ago – Edo DG

I want to join other Nigerians across the world to celebrate our own, Oluwatobiloba Amusan on her historic feat.

By this record, she has put Nigeria on the world map and she has made the world stand for the National Anthem of our dear country for the first time in the history of the World Athletics Championships.

Her achievement is beyond a mere hurdle record-setting, it is a call on its own to awake the sleeping giant. TOBILOBA, you have reminded many Nigerians that there’s a reward in labour and that doing things legally with endurance and total commitment will one day yield results.

During her Trials for this Championship and the Commonwealth which were held at the well-laid and maintained tartan track of our prestigious Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, a few weeks ago, I saw a great thing in her and the zeal I saw her put out during her participation in the trials gave me the confidence that she surely will make us proud at the end of it all.

I also celebrate Ese Brume for her long jump Silver Medal and I’m sure confident that she will also do us proud as TOBILOBA has done, momentarily.

Thank you for your gallantry, thank you for making us proud, and thank you for putting Nigeria in the mouth and face of the world.

We celebrate you, keep the flag flying high.
