Imo State Government To Compensate Businesses Destroyed By Unknown Gunmen
[jp_post_view]
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has said the state will set up committee to consider compensation for the people whose businesses were destroyed as a result of the operations of unknown gunmen that destroyed lives and properties in the state.
Governor Hope Uzodimma stated this during the week when he played host to delegation of the National Onion Producers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria, NOPPMAN led by their National President, Alhaji Aliyu Maitasimu Isah in his office.
I sympathized with the association on account of the unfortunate loss of lives and businesses during the recent security breaches which rocked the state.
In line with the group’s appeal for compensation for goods which were destroyed, I pledged to set up a committee to workout modalities and cushion the losses of members whose goods were affected.
said Governor Hope Uzodimma.
It would be recalled Northern youths under the umbrella body of Northern Consensus Movement threatened to replicate attacks as northern residents in the south are being attacked and businesses distroyed by unknown gunmen if the governors of the affected states refused to pay compensation to the victims.
