
NDLEA Arrests 67-Year-Old Blind Man Another Man Kept ‘Igbo’ In His Possession
National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested and kept in its custody a blind 67-year-old grand father, Aliyu Adebiyi another man kept in his possession 234 kilograms of cannabis also known as ‘igbo’.
NDLEA in a statement issued by Its spokesperson, Femi Babafemi on Sunday, said the blind man received three months upfront from the man.
Adding, the suspected person kept the bags of cannabis in the blind man possession for an agreed fee.
NDLEA in the statement didn’t state the possibility for a blind man to know the items kept in his possession were cannabis or prohibited drugs.
According to NDLEA, the blind man said a drug dealer kept the cannabis in his possession for a fee of 6 thousand naira per month. Adding, the suspected drug dealer paid three months upfront.
“In Osun state, NDLEA officers on Friday 20th January took into custody a blind 67-year-old grandpa, Aliyu Adebiyi, in whose house they found 234 kilograms of cannabis at Sokoto village, Owena Ijesa, Atakumosa East Local Government Area.
“In his statement, he said a drug dealer kept the consignment with him for a fee of 6,000 naira per month and paid for three months upfront”, NDLEA statement reads.
