Nnamdi Kanu/Buhari Visit: PMB Arrives As Angry Youths Block Major Road To Imo State, Banks, Other Businesses Close Shops

Some motorists escaped death along Onitsha-Owerri road at the early hours of today around Oba community in Anambra state when angry youths holding cutlasses and other dangerous weapons blocked the major road for passengers and major route to military barracks accesing Imo state in protest against President Muhammadu Buhari working visit to the state.
The youths and other residents had staged a continuous sit-at-home protest every monday for the past 5 weeks demanding the unconditional release of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who have been accused by Federal Government and charged with treasonable act in Federal High Court, Abuja.
OsazuwaAkonedo gathered that around 5 o’clock this morning, the angry youths blocked several points between Old road and New road area of Oba community in Anambra state.
One of the victims who begged for anonymity, said at a point he summoned the courage to inform the attacking youths that he cannot reverse the 45,000 litres of PMS trailer, adding, if he had done that the close houses in Oba would burn to ashes.
He said the attacker thereafter allowed him park the vehicle elsewhere by the road side.
He said he was beaten while another trailer driver with loads of cement was forced to use the vehicle to block the road.

Adding, he thanked God his life was spared to continue to enjoy his young wife.
OsazuwaAkonedo reports that the motorists were stranded on the road over 5 hours before men of the Nigerian Navy arrived in large number to clear the road around 10 a.m.
Other military personnel were later seen patrolling the road with mounted gun trucks.
Businesses in the area were completely under lock and key while some banks staff who attempted to open for operation at Ekwulobia area of Anambra state were beaten and chased out by angry youths.
It was also gathered that some of the angry youths attacked motorists at Oko area of Anambra state leaving some of the victims badly wounded.
Shops at Main markets, Onitsha did not open for operation.
BBC report shows that President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Imo State early hour of today with large numbers of government officials seen in the broadcast video coming out of the Presidential air plane.
Journalists mostly government house correspondents were seen to be the only ones allowed to come close to the President at the air port to take shot.
