Obaseki Increases Minimum Wage From N30k To N40k For Workers
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has increased the minimum wage for workers in Edo State from 30 to 40 thousand naira.
Governor Godwin Obaseki made the announcement today during the Workers Day commemoration ceremony held at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
Governor Godwin Obaseki said the state would have loved to increase the minimum wage pay for workers more than 40,000 naira.
Adding, the little upward review of the workers salary in the state hopefully would help cushion the impact of inflation faced in the country.
“While delivering my 2022 Workers’ Day speech, I announced that we have reviewed the minimum wage for Edo workers from N30,000 to N40,000 a month.
“Although we would have loved to pay more, we hope that this little adjustment will enable us to cushion the impact of the inflation that we are faced with.
“To our workers; your welfare is our number one priority. As a government, we are prepared to make the sacrifices, so that our workers can live a better life. Happy Workers’ Day”, Governor Godwin Obaseki said.
