Police Arrests Man With Fresh Human Head In Edo
Men of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested a 27 years old man, Uwadiae Airebuwa for killing and cutting off the head of a 43 years old man, Edobor Lawrence who live in the same Evbuotubu quarters with him when the victim was returning from burial Ceremony at One O’clock midnight according to the state owned Television Station, Edo Broadcasting Service, EBS for the purpose of money ritual, which, luck ran against him when police and vigilante members on patrol intercepted him, he ran, abandoning the polythene bag containing the fresh human head and he was subsequently arrested after the security operatives gave him a chase.
According to EBS, the deceased was a fashion designer and was killed by a group of assailants after he came down from a car and was trekking home at One O’clock midnight while returning from a burial ceremony held on March 6, 2025 late night and early morning night of March 7, 2025.
Edo State Police Command in a press release issued and made available on Saturday by the command Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, the suspect was intercepted “On 07 March 2025 at approximately 3:00am.
Operatives of Evbuotubu Division alongside vigilante members, while on patrol of the area, intercepted and arrested one Uwadiae Airebuwa, 27 years, of Igbinudu Street, Evbuotubu Quarters, in possession of a fresh human head contained in a polythene bag.
Upon interrogation, the suspect took them to a decapitated body of a man along the road near Eweka Shopping Plaza.
The deceased, later identified by a family member as Edobor Lawrence, 43 years, of Number 1 Osagie Street, Evbuotubu Quarters, was evacuated to the hospital for preservation while investigation continues.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin while condoling family of the deceased, assured them and the general public that the Command will not rest until all those involved in this heinous crime are brought to book.
She further advised young persons to seek legitimate means of making money rather than venturing into crime.

We had reproted that the immediate past Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has sent some words of sympathy to the people of Okpekpe community in the Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State following the killing of two persons; Batemue Philip aka Ebo and Christopher Bello by suspected herdsmen on Monday, calling on the state governor, Monday Okpebholo and other authorities responsible for the security of the state to act swiftly, just as the council chairperson in charge of the local government, Benedicta Attoh raised alarm that if the state government fails to act fast, the entire North Ibie people maybe wiped out by the suspected Fulani herders, with another report of the Head of the Vigilante group in Erah Community in the Owan East Local Government Area of the State,Victor Ogendegbe also killed in cold blood by attackers suspected to be fulani herdsmen.
Previously, we reported that the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the killing of seven persons on Friday during a communal clash between the people of Gbelemonti and Maidoti communities in the Ovia South West Local Government of Edo State, with the police also arresting a member of the Edo State Vigilante group who shot dead and set ablaze a victim he falsely accused of being a thief out of malice due to misunderstanding the vigilante member had with the deceased; just as the new commissioner of police, Enekpen Otimenyin subjects police personnel in the state to retraining.
