Police Arrests One, Search For Fake Dollar Producers In Abuja
Men of the Nigeria Police Force have invaded a hideout in Abuja believed to be a place some suspected criminals produced fake dollar notes in Nigeria.
The police authority said the kingpin of the currency counterfeit was arrested during the Abuja raid while other members of the gang fled.
The police in a news release as presented below said manhunt has been launched for the fleeing gang members to be apprended.
CYBER SECURITY: NPF NCCC FOILS COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY RING, RECOVERS USD 100,000 IN FAKE NOTES
The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC), delivering on its mandate to stamp and decimate the trend of cyber crime in the country, has made a significant breakthrough following the apprehension of one Muhammed Zenabdin “Male” for criminal conspiracy and possession of suspected counterfeit currency amounting to one hundred thousand United States Dollars ($100,000.00).
While acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the NPF-NCCC conducted a raid on a suspected cybercrime hideout located in Garki II, FCT. Despite the escape of other members of the criminal gang, Muhammed Zenabdin “Male” was successfully apprehended. Subsequent execution of a search warrant revealed compelling evidence, including One Hundred Thousand United States Dollars in one-hundred-dollar bills believed to be counterfeits, along with sophisticated counterfeit detection equipment, international passports, mobile phones, and a luxury vehicle.
The suspect has provided indicting confessional statements and also offered valuable information to aid in the apprehension of other members of the gang. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the suspect(s) will face arraignment in court.
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the Director of the NCCC, CP Uche Ifeanyi Henry, and his team for their diligent efforts in combating cybercrime. While assuring the public of their safety, the IGP issued a stern warning to all cybercrime threat actors, urging them to cease their illicit activities or face severe legal consequences.

HUMAN CAPACITY BUILDING: NIGERIA POLICE OFFICERS EXCEL AT U.S TRAINING PROGRAM.
The officers of the NPF have excelled at the just concluded US Special Program for Embassy Augmentation Response (SPEAR) team mission at Amman, Jordan.
The training, which commenced on the 10th of March 2024 and concluded on the 3rd of April 2024, was designed to enhance the team’s skills in responding to various emergencies and tactical situations. The program was conducted by the US Navy Seals and covered a wide range of topics, including several tactical drills and assessments, ensuring a well-rounded and thorough learning experience.
The NPF is incredibly proud of these gallant men for their commitment and hard work throughout the training program as they were lauded as the best set to ever be trained. This achievement not only demonstrates their dedication to professional growth but also strengthens the capabilities of the Nigeria Police Force towards improved service delivery and sustainable national security and safety.
The team was led by the Squadron Commander 23PMF, ACP Itse Daniel Amah.

EID-EL-FITR: IGP FELICITATES MUSLIM UMMAH, ASSURES OF COMPREHENSIVE SECURITY EMPLACEMENTS
- Heightens Alertness Amongst Operatives
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, extends warm felicitations to the entire Muslim Ummah in the country as they prepare to celebrate the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. In the bid to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, the IGP reaffirms ongoing efforts to combat crime and enhance public safety nationwide as Commissioners of Police (CPs) and Tactical Commanders across all states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), along with their supervisory Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs), have been tasked to intensify security measures in anticipation of the Eid-el-Fitr festivities.
Similarly, the IGP has directed supervisory AIGs and their respective CPs to ensure the thorough deployment of officers and resources to critical locations, particularly Eid Prayer Grounds and recreational centers, in order to instill confidence among citizens and fun seekers alike. Furthermore, the IGP has charged officers and men of the Force to conduct comprehensive assessments of areas prone to threats, implement rigorous stop-and-search procedures, conduct raids on identified black spots, and employ other anti-crime strategies aimed at maintaining peace and ensuring public safety throughout the country. While emphasizing the importance of professionalism, the IGP has cautioned deployed personnel to remain vigilant and respect citizens’ fundamental rights as they fulfill their duties with utmost decorum and alertness.
The IGP also charges members of the public to be law-abiding, adhere to security tips and respect law enforcement agents deployed at strategic locations for protection of lives and property, and general public safety across the country.

FCT POLICE ARRESTS NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBERY KINGPIN, 4 OTHERS, RECOVERS EXHIBITS.
The operatives of the FCT police command, on April 4, 2024, at about 2:00 PM, arrested one Chukwuemeka Oputa A.K.A. Pounds and Dollar ‘male’, 38 years old, of Umuaka, Njaba, Imo State, and the leader of an armed robbery gang responsible for series of armed robberies and other heinous crimes in FCT.
His arrest is consequent upon the apprehension of one Moses Hassan ‘male’ of Idda, Kogi State, a cultist, and member of the armed robbery gang, on February 14, 2024.
Investigation subsequently led police operatives to the arrest of three other gang members, namely: Praise Etta, 30 years ‘old, of Etung, Cross River State; Rafael Dav A.K.A. Raffy, 28 years old, of Guma, Benue State; and Thomas Akange, 38 years ‘old, of Markudi, Benue State. All the suspects have since confessed to being involved in a series of armed robberies and other heinous crimes in FCT and are also members of a confraternity cult group called Vikings.
Several exhibits, such as four (4) locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, three (3) locally made rifles using cartridges, an English pistol, one locally made pistol, a Dane gun, and three (3) AK-47 ammunitions, a 5.56mm assault ammunition, and an empty cartridge, were recovered from the suspects.
While effort is on top gear to recover other exhibits in possession of the suspects, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, wishes to reiterate his unflinching commitment to making FCT inhabitable for criminals. IGP APPROVES POSTING OF DEPUTY FORCE PRO, PPROs
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the posting of Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) to various Commands and Formations, as well as the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, to strengthen community engagement and strategic communication. The newly posted officers have been tasked to be professional in their dealings and foster unalloyed relationship with members of the Public.
The newly posted officers and their respective portfolios include CSP Isuku Victor Edailokun as Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters Abuja; DSP Ukandu Joshua to PPRO Ebonyi; ASP Buhari Abdullahi to PPRO Gombe; ASP John Timfon to PPRO Akwa-Ibom; and ASP Hundeyin Isaac Sewanu to PPRO Ports Authority Police (Western) Lagos.

Reassures Prompt Promotion on Merit
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has authorized the promotion of ten thousand, five hundred and eighty-one (10,581) deserving junior officers of the Inspectorate Cadre, and the Rank and File. In line with this directive, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police overseeing the Department of Finance and Administration (DIG DFA) has been tasked with coordinating efforts alongside the Commissioner of Police (Welfare) to commence the promotion process promptly.
The breakdown of promotions includes nine thousand, eight hundred and thirty-one (9,831) Police Constables slated to be promoted to the rank of Corporal; eighty-one (81) Corporals to advance to the rank of Sergeant; and six hundred and sixty-nine (669) officers set to progress from the rank of Sergeants to Inspectors.
The Inspector General of Police while emphasizing the zeal of the Force leadership to fostering a culture of meritocracy and career advancement, reiterates the pivotal role of timely promotions in enhancing the morale of officers and bolstering the overall effectiveness of the Force, noting that it serves as cornerstones in sustaining the ongoing manpower development initiatives of the Nigeria Police Force. He, however, reassured that promotions in the Force will be solely on merit.

The Nigeria Police Force wishes to address the recent circulation of a document purportedly containing conclusions of an investigation into allegations against the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The document alleges fraudulent misrepresentation, certificate forgery, examination malpractice, and perjury against the governor.
We wish to clarify that the said document did not originate from the Nigeria Police Force. The alleged signatory, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, does not have the authority to release such a report on behalf of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) or any other such Departments within the Nigeria Police Force.
The Nigeria Police Force is currently investigating the origin of the said document and the circumstances surrounding its circulation. We urge the public to exercise caution and refrain from spreading unverified information that could potentially tarnish the reputation of individuals or public officials.
Furthermore, we assure the public that any official communication or report regarding investigations conducted by the Nigeria Police Force will be released through appropriate channels.
