Police Invade Unknown Gunmen Shrine In Imo, Kill One
Men of the Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday took offensive gun battle to armed group known as Unknown Gunmen at their spiritual camp at Onicha Community in Ezinihitte-Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
Michael Abattam, the Imo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer said today while speaking with newsmen that one of the unknown gunmen, the Police identified as Indigenous People of Biafra terrorists group was killed during crossfire that ensued when the Unknown Gunmen on sighting the police men initiated a fight.
Some of the items the Police paraded as things recovered and seen at the gunmen camp included spiritual materials for magical powers tied around tree with native magic pot with thick red coloured and partially blood like stain on white clothes tied around the tree.
Sources close to security Operatives had earlier informed that the Unknown Gunmen used more magical powers while in operation. The sources said while men of the Nigeria Army ran away at Azia Junction in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State along the Onitsha-Owerri road during the campaign period of the recently concluded November 6, 2021 Anambra Governorship election when the Unknown Gunmen attacked the army is that the soldiers were no longer seeing the people they were shooting at; and the Unknown Gunmen inside a red car were advancing towards them hence they ran for safety.
A visit to the scene of the attack then at the Azia Junction shows men of Nigerian Army shot severally at the red car conveying the unknown gunmen as the car was seen with a lot of bullet holes and yet no evidence if any of the unknown gunmen inside the car sustained injury or died from the gunshots.
According to the Imo State Police Command, they were able to make the breakthrough based on the information made available to the security operatives.
“Sequel to the mandate of the Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Hussaini psc, to raid all major criminal enclaves identified in the state to neutralize all crimes and criminality with the sole aim to sustain the already improved security situation in the state.
“Following credible information that some members of the proscribed IPOB/ ESN terror group, its militia wing has made a forest at Onicha in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, their operational base where they go out to perpetrate heinous crimes which include terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery and killing of innocent citizens.
“Based on this information, the ever combat-ready Imo Command’s tactical teams, having carried diligent surveillance of the criminal hideouts, on 18/1/2022 at about 13:00 hours, stormed the deadly terror camp.

“The hoodlums on sighting the police operatives open fire on them. The gallant and battle-ready Police operatives swiftly returned the fire. In the fierce gun battle, one of the hoodlums was neutralised while others scampered into the adjoining bushes fatally injured with gunshot injuries.
Also, “One Lexus 350 SUV without a registration number. One Lexus 330 SUV without a registration number., Two Biafran flags, different assorted Charms, Assorted dresses suspected to belong to kidnapped/robbed victims,” Police said.
“On combing the bush and searching the terror camp the following exhibits were recovered; one AK47 rifle with Forty rounds of live ammunition.
