President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has said the country is currently busy in the construction of gas pipeline from the Nigeria southern geopolitical zone to the northern part and onward to Morocco and Europe as the European countries now depend on Africa for gas following the Russia war in Ukraine which led to several sanctions on Russia including the ban on Russia oil import.
President Muhammadu Buhari through one of his spokespersons, Garba Shehu stated this today in a tweet.
According to President Muhammadu Buhari, instead of Nigeria going broke as many economists predicted, the country stands to rake in billions of naira everyday owing to the current crude oil prices.
“Following the Russia Ukraine War, Europe is now turning to Africa for gas.
“Guess what? Nigeria has been busy with the multi billion dollar AKK pipeline which runs from the gas fields in the South to the North and eventually onwards to Morocco and Europe.
“Lastly, instead of going broke as many economists predicted, Nigeria stands to rake in billions of naira every day owing to crude oil prices.
“Nigerias 2022 budget was planned with a 62 dollar a barrel benchmark, today oil prices are double that amount”, the statement reads.
