
US House To Boost Security For Supreme Court Judges – Speaker Nancy Pelosi
Speaker of the USA House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi has assured Americans that the house will decide a legislation to protect Justices of Supreme Court following a case of an armed man who was arrested near Brett Kavanaugh’s home and charged with attempted murder.
Nancy Pelosi disclosed this on Thursday during her weekly press conference.
The armed man, according an affidavit signed by an FBI agent as reported by Reuters news agency, is 26-year-old Nicholas Roske of the Los Angeles suburb of Simi Valley.
He carried a handgun he had purchased for the purpose of killing Kavanaugh as well as ammunition, a crow bar, pepper spray and other items.
The member of the US Supreme Court, Kavanaugh’s home in the Washington suburb of Chevy Chase has been the site of some protests by abortion-rights advocates since the May 2 publication of a leaked draft opinion indicating the court was poised to overturn its landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide according to Reuters.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre had said President Joe Biden condemned the actions of this individual in the strongest terms and supports pending legislation in Congress that would improve security for the justices.
