Why Ekweremadu, Wife May Remain In Prison
Maltreatment of the suspected under age donor of human organs to the daughter of the Nigeria former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu may be the root cause of the Enugu born politician and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu journey to UK Prison.
It was gathered that the donor which the court or the police is yet to officially released his names, was badly treated by Ike Ekweremadu and his wife after the Doctor rejected the organs of the poor Nigerian.
The poor Nigerian ran out from Ike Ekweremadu apartment for safety and find help in the hands of UK Metropolitan police after he allegedly suffered domestic violence in the hands of the Ekweremadu family.
Ekweremadu media office claimed that the suspected donor, Ukpo Nwamini David was not under age as reported and alleged by the UK police.
The Media office backed up their claim with an unverified letter signed by the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and dated December, 28, 2021 where the senator requested a Visa being granted to the suspected donor, to enable him perfect his willingness to the senator daughter, Sonia Ekweremadu at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
According to Arise TV correspondent who was at the court on Thursday, the prosecutors, said Ekweremadu and his wife were being charged for bringing the 15-year-old boy from Nigeria to the UK with the claim that he was to be given a better life in the UK but was actually to harvest his organ.
The prosecutors told the court that the former Deputy Senate President procured a passport for the boy and claimed he was 21 years old but discovered that he was 15 years old.
The prosecutors also told the court that suspects have a daughter who has a kidney-related disease and has been on dialysis for quite some time.
The prosecutors added that it is believed that the plan was to use an organ from the boy on their daughter who appears to need a kidney transplant.
But Court denied Ekweremadu and his wife bail, ordered them to be remanded in custody and adjourned the case till July.
Ekweremadu and his wife reportedly had separate legal representations and prayed the court to release them on bail but their prayer was however dismissed by the Magistrate.
The couple has surrendered their passports to the UK government.

It was learnt that the couple was arrested at Heathrow airport, on their way to Istanbul, Turkey and according to the prosecutors, it is believed that they were on their way to procure another organ as they were unable to harvest the organ of the boy.
$20,000 was found on Ike Ekweremadu, according to the prosecutors.
The UK Magistrate Court ordered the couple to be remanded in custody till July 7 for the next hearing on the case after much deliberation.
AriseTV correspondent said the reason the organs were not harvested, was sequel to the claim that the boy truthfully disclosed his age to the doctors at the Royal Free hospital in the UK.
The doctor canceled the procedure and the boy was immediately taken into the custody of the family who according to the prosecutors treated him like a slave until he escaped and found his way to the police where an investigation started, leading to the arrest of the couple.
The claim could be contradicting. The Royal Free Hospital could have possibly informed the police if truly they found out that the real age of the suspected donor was 15.
OsazuwaAkonedo may not be wrong to say Ekweremadu and his family bad behaviour towards the poor Nigerian in UK may have triggered information that is gradually taking the senator and his wife to prison.
