
I Resign Because I Can’t Fix UK Economic Crisis – Liz Truss
Liz Truss, the resigned Prime Minister of United Kingdom may not only be the shortest serving Prime Minister in UK but a leading good example for leaders in the world.
Liz Truss after meeting with the King on Thursday, came out and addressed world press conference, of her decision to step down as UK Prime Minister.
According to Liz Truss, she was given a mandate by the Conservative Party to fix or address the economic challenges or crisis in the United Kingdom. But, along the line, she realized that she can’t fix the economic problems, hence, her decision to step down.
Liz Truss said when she was elected Prime Minister on September 6, 2022, families and businesses in the United Kingdom finds it difficult to pay bills. This, she said, coupled with economic and international instability.
She specifically referenced the war in Ukraine ordered by President Vladimir Putin of Russia.
She said for years, the United Kingdom is experiencing economic challenges, adding, she was given the mandate by the Conservative Party to fix the economic challenges bedeviling the country.
“I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative Party”, Liz Truss said.
