Residents of Nitel Road in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State woke up in the morning to behold a burnt body within the crossroad connecting Mbarakpaka, Obodoawo, Ndiezike and Orlu Road on 11th , February, 2023.
The lifeless body of the young man had beside and around him, already cut high tension wires with his hands tied behind.
There have been constant thefts along the area where electricity wires as well as transformers have been looted and vandalised by unknown people and that turned out to be everyday for the thief but one day for the owner.
Last week, the pole holding the high tension was hammered several times to the ground and ever since then, surveillance was mounted to know the motives of those who brought it down while people were sleeping.
That is how the young man may have been caught just after six days from date of vandalisation.
As it stands, nobody could give a true identity of the man burnt to death or what transpired between him and those that eliminated him except the cut wires giving pointer to what must have happened.
