Man Narrates How Soldiers Killed 20 Innocent Villagers In Edo

A man has narrated how men of the Nigerian Army killed over 20 innocent villagers at Obayantor village in Edo state by attacking them house to house, killing them while some were in their sleep.

According to the man who spoke behind camera, some soldiers led by a former youth leader into the community came to Obanyator on that fateful day with false claim to make peace with the youths but things turned the other way round, the soldiers and the youths engaged in gun battle and unfortunately, two soldiers were killed at the moment.

The man said the soldiers went back and returned with more men and started killing people indiscriminately in the village.

It would be recalled that we have earlier reported that in what looked like transfer of aggression, men of the Nigerian army led by one of the rival youth leaders at Obayantor Community situated off Sapele road and Airport road in Benin City allegedly killed over 20 innocent defenseless citizens after the soldiers lost two men to gunmen in separate attack in the community.

Residents said some young women were raped and some of the killed innocent young and old men were in their sleep, trying to escape when the angry soldiers gunned them down.

A video of rescue team picking dead bodies from the streets and houses in Obayantor community shows some were killed inside sleep as the video shows some of the dead victims lying lifeless face down in their room.

Some of the dead bodies were found inside gutter.
