Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu has called on the Nigeria Government to ensure those behind the killing of Reverend Yohanna Shuaibu in Kano State are brought to book.

Yohanna Shuaibu, Northeastern Evangelist of New Life Church and Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Chairman in Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano state was allegedly killed by muslim mob last Thursday night at Massu village for converting a man of muslim religion to christianity.

It was gathered the said man who was converted from muslim to christian before the incident neither goes to church nor mosque.

The converted man allegedly killed his brother’s wife in a fight, handed himself to security operatives but muslims in the community believed him to be a christian and went after the pastor.

Residents said Reverend Yohanna Shuaibu ran to another village for safety but returned on Thursday night with the aim to close the operational activities of his missionary school as the tension grew.

Residents said Reverend Yohanna Shuaibu came back that night, met the environment to be calm, believing the tension has reduced and decided to stay back with his family in Massu village.

Muslim residents gathered themselves same night, mobbed the pastor and clergy man was later pronounced dead in the hospital. The wife and other family members managed to escape the attack through the cover of the dark night. The mob also burnt down his house, church and mission school.

Aisha Yesufu in a message few hours ago, said over the years, barbaric mobs have always kill and nothing done to them, thus, that is encouraging many to kill more.

“Who has killed those who reverted many to Islam?

“This is how the Nigerian state has contributed to breeding terrorists.

“Over the years, barbaric mobs have been killing and nothing done to them and this embolden many to take the laws into their hands and kill more!
