
Physically Challenged, Others Refused To Leave As Police Tries To Stop Obidients Rally In Ebonyi
Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has been accused of abuse of power over alleged use of policemen to disrupt the electioneering campaign rally organized by supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi well known as Obidients in the state.
Peter Obi supporters known as Obidients have gathered for one million fitness march in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital early morning on Saturday when men of the Nigeria Police Force blocked the road and started shooting teargas to scare the people.
Videos and photographs from the scene of action showed most of the Obidients including physically challenged person refused to leave as some persons were seen picking the shot teargas and throwing them back at the police team.
The Obidients later relocated from the road blocked by the police men and became more in numbers for the massive rally along several streets and major roads in Abakaliki.
Ebonyi State Government and Nigeria Police Force are yet to state reason or reasons for trying to stop the Obidients rally in the state.
Some of the Obidients have taken to social media platforms to accuse the Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi for starting political violence in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
