God Saves Apostle Johnson Suleman, Not Bullet Proof Car
By Sam Akpologun
Yesterday (Friday), a sad incident happened. Apostle Johnson Suleiman’s convoy was attacked and a number of people were killed.
It was gathered that he escaped unhurt. It is sad however, the many unfortunate comments that followed the incidents. Many carpeted him for daring to ascribe his safety to God’s protection whereas a bulletproof car shielded him from harm (a luxury that the other victims were not fortunate enough to afford).
I thought is to share some thoughts with us in that regard that we might thereby be edified.
Let’s not think people can’t be killed in Bulletproof cars? If God doesn’t protect a man, killing him in bulletproof car is way too easy.
The assailants didn’t even need to shoot the car. They could have just dows it with some PMS and baked the inmates alive.
The people that took time to engage 4 armed police men and killed everyone including the other passengers could have done that to him if God didn’t keep it from their heart.
I have been shot at before. God protected me. I don’t have a bulletproof car. I have been attacked with machete before. God protected me. So I know as a matter of fact that God can keep people.
The protocol behind how it happens and who gets it is what I may not be able to go into now. But I know that while horses are prepared for battle (it is foolishness not to prepare horse at all) safety is of the Lord. I’m saying, “…there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few” (Psalm 14:6)
The same God that saves by the instrumentality of bulletproof car could have as well teleported him from the scene. I’ve heard of God saving someone by causing a spider to spin it’s cobweb. But then, there’s a need to rightly divide the scriptures.
While we trust in the Lord, we must not fall into the error of tempting God. That may explain why people like Apostle Suleman move around in bullet proof cars. It’s about responsible behaviour at their level. On this note I’d quote Tayo Onaleye whose statement on this I find absolutely captivating
“It would be irresponsible at their level to move around with ordinary cars. Just as the security around in your car of 15 million naira is higher than the security in a bicycle of 15k.
Why doesn’t Apostle Suleman move without security and in just normal vehicles? Why can’t he just believe that angels and the anointing cover him? It’s because at his level, it’d be reckless and irresponsible to do so.
“So what factor was at play in Apostle escaping the assassination attempt? Bullet proof vehicle or The power of God? (Proverbs 21:31)
“The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD. The horse looks like the armored vehicle
“The bullet proof vehicle is prepared against the day of possible attack: but safety is of the LORD. It may be irresponsible behaviour at certain levels to reject a bullet proof vehicle in the name of “safety is of the LORD”.
The takeaway is that at your level ensure you take proper security measures and always put your trust in the Lord.
Psalm 20:7:
“‘Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”
“Prepare the horse for the day of battle..
“That we remember the name of the Lord doesn’t mean that we won’t use the horses and the chariots. It only means that our trust is not in them. It’s in God. The horses and chariots are basic. The real thing is the name of the Lord.”
Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Shalom.
