It Is Armed Robbery For A Policeman With A Gun To Slap, Obtain Money – NPF
Nigeria Police Force has called on Nigerians to report any police personnel who holds a gun and slap, beat or threaten to shoot with the aim to collect or obtain money from any member of the public.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed this few hours ago in a tweet while providing answers to questions asked by twitter users.
According to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, it is armed robbery for any police officer to hold a gun, slap, beat or threaten to shoot in order to obtain or extort a Nigerian.
“My brother, if a policeman has gun to the point of slapping, beating, threatening to shoot in order to obtain or extort a Nigerian forcefully, its an act of Armed robbery”, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said.
The Police PRO also urged members of the public to stop asking for pardon when such erring police man or woman is disciplined by the Force.
“But it’s a pity, that when such a person complains and we have acted, it’s the same person that will be on”, Olumuyiwa Adejobi added.
