
South Korea Trip: President Buhari Plane Makes Emergency Landing In An Undisclosed Country
Information from the Presidency few hours ago indicated that the Presidential jet conveying President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria and other entourage to South Korea may have made an emergency landing in an undisclosed country due to unexpected technical issues.
One of the personal aides to the President, Buhari Sallau, described the emergency landing as a technical stop over, to enable the President and other entourage onboard the plane stretch thier legs, take local coffee and drinks.
Buhari Sallau also said such technical stop over enables the plane to be taken through a routine of mechanical and electrical checks, refueling and re-evaluation, “before we continue the journey”.
Wiktionary described the words technical stop as “A stop most commonly used to refuel the aircraft, to make unexpected essential repairs or to respond to some emergency need to land the aircraft. No traffic is unloaded or loaded during a technical stop”.
Buhari Sallau words read thus: “TECHNICAL STOPOVERS: When going on official trips with long travel time, we always have no choice but to stop for what is called technical stop over.
“This stop over happens in different countries depending on the direction of travel with us having some time to stretch our legs, take a break off the plane and grab some local coffee and drinks.
“While doing this, the plane is taking through a routine of mechanical and electrical checks, refueling and re-evaluation before we continue the journey.
“Here enroute South Korea, the President reembarks on the 001 flight after a technical stop in a country I’m not allowed to disclose though I know some people can figure it out.
“Hope you have enjoyed your weekend?”.
President Muhammadu Buhari departed Abuja for South Korea to participate at the 1st World Bio Summit on Sunday 23, October 2022.
President Buhari who left in the afternoon, is onboard the aircraft with Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari and Minister of FCT, Muhammad Bello among others.
