Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said that the unknown gunmen killing soldiers and other security operatives in the state do come from Owerri, the Imo state capital.
Governor Wike stated this yesterday while speaking during the Channels Television Politics Today programme.
Governor Wike said the gunmen do come into Port Harcourt around 1 a.m from Owerri, adding, that was the reason he placed a curfew on; in and out of Rivers State from 8 p.m to 6 a.m.
Governor Wike noted that the gunmen have killed numbers of police men, soldiers from Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Custom Services amongst others.
Governor Wike blamed the insecurity in the country on Federal government and accused President Muhammadu Buhari and other federal government officials of playing politics with human lives.
It would be recalled, gunmen on Saturday night killed three custom officers at Isiokpo security check point and three Air Force Personnel and two police men were also killed same night at Omagwa security checkpoint along Port Harcourt- Owerri road in Rivers state.
Sunday night, the gunmen again killed five Nigerian Army personnel at Abua security checkpoint in Rivers state.
