Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has said that he won the 2023 presidential election in which the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Peter Obi stated this on Thursday in Abuja during his first press conference to address Nigerians on the outcome of the last Saturday Presidential and National Assembly elections in the country.
According to Peter Obi, if anyone must answer the title “Your Excellency”, the person must ensure that the process through which he got the title is excellent.
Peter Obi, during the press conference observed a minute silence for victims of violence across the country in the last Saturday, February 25, presidential and National Assembly election.
Peter Obi stated that the press conference was the first time he will address the media either directly or indirectly after taking part in the voting exercise in Anambra state.
Peter Obi, said he will prove his victory in court.
“We have been asked to go to the courts; let’s go there.
“Remember that I am obedient, I am going to go where I am directed to go
“It is my belief that for you to answer “your excellency”, the process through which you arrive to office must be “excellent”.
“The election did not meet the minimum standard expected of a free, transparent, credible and fair election.
“The good and hardworking people of Nigeria have again been robbed by our leaders whom they trusted. This is not the end.
“A new Nigeria is possible, and I will work for that new Nigeria… Datti and I remain committed to that new Nigeria.
“Come out and vote in the (March 11) election, please come out and be part of the elections. I assure you that I will be a part of it, and I am totally committed to a better future for this country”, Peter Obi said.
